So either Berath (corrode), Skaen (pierce) or Wael (freeze).Ĭombusting Wounds + multiple pulsing effects is always very nice. Shining Beacon, Storm of Holy Fire and so on - all burn damage. Because if you meet burn immune foes you would be screwed. I would use a priest who has another "Symbol of " -damage type than burn. Summons and mind control items (Munacra Arret, Spirit Spiral, Ring of Changing Heart) help to distract enemies while you buff (and buff and buff) yourself. Radiance + Devotions + Minor Avatar) you can land everything on a dragon. Priest is a bit hefty at the start but is good later on. Chanter can also use mind control.Ī paladin with maxed out defenses is quite boring (until lvl 13) and tedious to play but a rel. Open with a figurine and then summon some ogres to distract enemies. You also get a chant that helps against dragons and lots of summons which is very helpful in a solo game. if you know the game well, this combo will be boring -) I would say that any combo of the three vancian caster classes priest / wizard / druid plus chanter is ridiculously powerful (no matter the specific builds). I guess that most other players are lazier -) But I like to play very micro-intensive and with a tons of CC (I hate to use healing spells). The most powerful party for my playstyle was priest, wizard, druid, chanter, barb and monk. Will your solo run be ToI mode, and do you intend to kill all dragons and bounties?įor potd parties: it is a matter of taste and play style. The Monksterlasher / Anvil builds are good for soloing. ![]() Monks are beefy and can deal a lot of damage. Plus the per rest casting system allows you to drown your enemy in the sheer volume of magic in a single encounter. The wizard is just so versatile, he or she can handle all situations the game throws at you (but you need some experience and knowledge how to use the spells efficiently and which spell combos are good). Saying otherwise is showing that you have never played around with a build at all to try and determine the way the game works.I found monk and wizard fairly easy for soloing, but these are the only two classes I have tried. Same thing with any other class you deal more damage and do it at the same speed with 3 dex or 22 dex. A 5th level figher easily hits between 20 and 35 points of damage per hit with an average speed weapon at the same speed in full plate with 3 dex or 22 Dex. ![]() If it actually effected attack recovery speed that would be different but it doesn't, is having a high reflex save somewhat nice sure in certain situation thats why i tend to play sword and shield style because it off balances the negatives.Īs for the animation speed if you max out dex and equip everything that raises it it only increases the animation speed by a fracttion of a second where as with maximum might your dps is so much higher. It has no purpose you can jack it up and see for yourself on a reset it has zero effect on anything for your character on any build. No you don't it doesn't do anything it affects attack animation speed and reflex saves that is all it effects at all. Originally posted by Wasted_46:stormcaller ranger was always and still is the only build I consider borderline cheating. There are a few broken items that can help certain characters do well, a high intellect Barbarian can do well with the spear Tall Grass as can a Ranger with the bow Stormcaller. It works well but there is a lot of micromanagment since you want to chain CC abilities so that the enemy never has a chance to act. My personal favorite would be Paladin (Tank and ACC buff), Priest (Buffer/Healer), 2 Druids (AOE DPS and CC), 2 Ciphers (Single Target DPS and CC), which is a really CC heavy party. ![]() The best party has a mix of different functions, but probably has at least: a character who can tank for about 10s, a priest, and enough CC to immobilize a dangerous target long enough to kill it. There are a lot of parties that do well on the highest difficulty setting. There really isn't one build that will crush the game, or one party. It depends a bit on your style and what you want since different classes do different things well:īest Tank: Paladin or Fighter (technically a Wizard can get a higher defense but it takes them a few seconds to buff up to that level)
